David McGuire's family has 100 years of service in law enforcement. His father and uncles served in combat during World War II. David spent over 28 years in public service as a police officer and Army officer. As a police officer with specialized military training after 9/11 he was called to serve in combat during The Global War on Terrorism. Some of his assignments include The Pentagon Joint Staff and The Republic of Korea. He was awarded The Legion of Merit Medal for his service.

David believes that public service is noble and necessary, to be served with integrity, faith, and family. It is a way to give back to the community. A fiscal conservative, he believes in the transparency of government. The primary responsibility of a town council member is to listen and be a voice for the citizens. To have integrity in all his actions both public and private. Putting the citizens and the town first in everything he will do as council member.

David has a master’s degree in history from Norwich University. He is an avid equestrian, and he volunteers with local civic and veterans’ organizations in his spare time.
