9PM Routine Campaign: The Warrenton Police Department encourages all residents to protect themselves and their property by locking their vehicles at night and removing all valuables, securing their homes, and closing garage doors or any other access areas to their homes. Both, the Warrenton Police Department and Fauquier Sheriff's Office has implemented the "9 PM Routine" campaign. Crime often happens because the opportunity presents itself to someone who is willing to participate in criminal activity. Law enforcement are asking that you help reduce these crimes of opportunity by participating in the 9 PM Routine. Wanting to know how else you can help. The idea is simple....you routinely set an alarm on your smart phone, watch, or another device to remind you to:
- Remove valuables from your vehicle
- Ensure that vehicle doors and trunks are locked
- Check the gates to your property are closed, garage doors are down and windows and doors to your home are locked and secured.
- Turn on exterior lights to deter unwanted persons from entering your property / install motion detection lighting....That's It!
- The 9 PM Routine is intended to make things harder to criminals, raise awareness and create safer habits for the citizens of the Town of Warrenton and Fauquier County.
- If you suspect criminal activity in our neighborhood, please call WPD non-emergency phone number at (540) 347-1100. In the event of an emergency or in progress crime, immediately call 911. Help reduce crime by supporting the "9 PM Routine Campaign".
