INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY MANAGER (FULL TIME):
The Town of Warrenton is accepting applications for an Information Technology Manager to provide project management, infrastructure and operational support to the Town's network system and users.  Oversees and coordinates activities with subcontractors, diagnoses and troubleshoots network or communication problems and provides help desk problem solution assistance. The candidate will perform responsible, technical and highly technical network administrative work in the implementation and support of the Town’s network infrastructure, analyzes needs and assists in the design, development and testing of computer systems and programs. Must have thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of IT technologies and ability to train and provide support to users. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

BUILDING PERMIT TECHNICIAN (PART-TIME):
The Department of Community Development is accepting applications for a part-time Permit Technician.  Performs skilled clerical work; responsible for managing the building permit and development application process under the direction of the department head.  Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment.  Stenographic skills are preferred as recording for some Town advisory boards is required.  Requires effective public relations skills for frequent contact with the public.  Prior experience in dealing with building and development applications is preferred. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience performing progressively responsible clerical and stenographic work.  Salary is $13.83/hour; up to 29 hours per week. Open until filled.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

POLICE CHIEF (FULL TIME):

The Town of Warrenton is seeking an innovative, experienced, proactive leader for the position of Police Chief. Applicants shall have a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience in a state, local or county police environment, with no less than seven years of progressively responsible supervisory service; a four-year degree in Criminal Justice or a related field from an accredited college or university, with a Master’s Degree preferred.  (Under certain conditions, the educational requirements can be waived based on a combination of education and experience).  Virginia Law Enforcement Certificate required.  Preference may be given to candidates who have completed nationally recognized advanced leadership training, such as the FBI National Academy or similar program.

Experience with a municipal or county law enforcement agency is highly preferred, as is experience at the level of chief, assistant/deputy chief or equivalent. The hiring range for the position will be between $95,000 and $120,000, depending on qualifications and experience. POLICE OFFICER (FULL TIME):
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, in good physical health, possess a high school diploma or G.E.D, valid Virginia driver’s license, and be able to deal well with the public. PUBLIC UTILITIES

METER READER (FULL TIME):
for the Public Utilities Department, performing intermediate semi-skilled work; reading and recording usage of meters, performed under moderate supervision of Meter Supervisor. Required to assist with field work; initiating and terminating service; preparing and maintaining files and records. Performs preventive maintenance on meters and repairs and/or replaces broken or defective parts; installs new meters; tests meters to ensure they are functioning properly.General knowledge of the geography and street locations of the Town and location of water meters; some knowledge of data entry, basic arithmetic and the methods and procedures for reading meters and recording consumption data. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and minimal experience reading and repairing water meters. Must possess a valid Virginia's driver's license; driving record required at interview.  Starting salary: $28,776, excellent benefits. MAINTENANCE WORKER (PART TIME):
For the Public Utilities Department to perform semi-skilled work, primarily landscaping duties and other maintenance duties.  Typical work day will be 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.  Compensation is to be $10.00 per hour, not to exceed 29 hours per week.  No benefits and is expected to last through Fall 2018. Please complete a Town of Warrenton Application and send to the address above. TRAFFIC SIGNAL/ BUILDING MAINTENANCE MECHANIC (FULL TIME):
The General Properties Division of Public Works is accepting applications for a full time Traffic Signal/ Building Maintenance Mechanic. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing general building maintenance and repair activities; installing, maintaining, and repairing pavement markings, traffic signs and traffic signals. Requires general knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical. Must have knowledge of the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and must have or be able to obtain Level II – IMSA Certification (International Municipal Signal Association). The Town is willing to assist in training. MOTOR EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I (FULL TIME):
The Town of Warrenton is accepting applications for a Motor Equipment Operator I in the Public Works Department to operate light to medium weight trucks and equipment in the construction, repair and maintenance of streets, utilities, waste disposal, snow removal, mowing operations and related facilities and systems; must possess a valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License; copy of current DMV driving record is required at interview; starting salary 33,312; excellent benefits. WATER TREATMENT PLANT

PLANT OPERATOR (PART-TIME):
Part Time Water Treatment Plant Operator for the evening shift at the Town of Warrenton's Water Treatment Plant to perform responsible unskilled and semi-skilled work operating a Class 2 water treatment plant. This position requires rotating weekends and Holidays. Legible handwriting required.  Must possess a valid Virginia's driver's license; proof required before interview. Starting salary dependent on license; willing to consider a trainee. PARKS
AND RECREATION

MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR (PART-TIME):
Part Time Membership Coordinator needed at the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility (WARF).  Responsible for member recruitment and customer service.  Supervises front desk staff.  Must have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a desire to provide the best possible service to our members.  $13.82/hour.  Background check required.  A Town of Warrenton employment application is required. EOE

MAINTENANCE WORKER (FULL TIME):
Full time, $26,101 annually. Performs general maintenance work and operates light and medium sized power equipment in a variety of locations.  Weekend hours required.  Must possess a valid VA driver’s license with good driving record; driving record required prior to hiring.  Criminal background check prior to hiring.

FRONT DESK ATTENDANT (PART-TIME):
The WARF is accepting applications for part-time Front Desk Attendants.  Duties include greeting customers and members, handling cash, answering telephones, and using CSI software system.  Applicant must be customer service oriented and possess basic computer skills.  Weekend availability is a must.  Position is part-time, approximately 15 - 20 hours per week.  Please complete a Town of Warrenton Application and send to the address above.  Starting rate is $9.00 per hour.  Open until filled.

LIFEGUARD (PART-TIME):
The WARF is hiring for year-round part-time lifeguard positions. Early morning, day, evening, and weekend shifts available. Starting rate is $10.00 per hour.  Certification classes are offered periodically - contact the WARF for more information on the next class.  Ongoing recruitment.

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR (PART-TIME):
The WARF is accepting applications from nationally certified Fitness Instructors for the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility to teach a variety of fitness classes such as cycle, Pilates, ZumbaTM, yoga and water and land aerobics.  Must be CPR and First Aid certified and able to interact with a wide variety of personalities. Hourly rate $15.00 - $25.00 per hour DOQ.  Ongoing recruitment.

VOLUNTEER (PART-TIME):
Receive a free WARF membership by volunteering in our child care center or by volunteering for maintenance duties for as little as 2 hours per week.  Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.  Background check required.
